How much do you charge?

How far in advance should I schedule my session?
The sooner the better! It may be hard to predict what your schedule is going to be 5 months out, but if you can schedule ahead of time, do it. If you are booking a wedding, try to schedule as soon as you have your wedding date in place. I typically recommend scheduling a minimum of three weeks in advance for all portrait sessions. I tend to fill up pretty quickly, especially during October and November (we all LOOOVEEE that fall fashion and foliage here in the Midwest). Plus, nothing makes me sadder than having to say no to taking your photos simply because I'm already booked.
What time of day is the best time to shoot?
If available, I will photograph sessions all hours of the day and night. However, if you want the gorgeous looks you see in my portfolio, aim for those sweet golden hours. Those precious couple of hours just before sunset allow me to do my best work and I promise you it's totally worth it and makes all the difference.
What can I expect at my session?
So, here's the deal. Unless you are a model... chances are you may not love being in front of the camera. That's okay! It's even uncomfortable for me being on the other side of the lens. We love pictures, but most of us aren't a huge fan of someone invading our personal space and having to pose can be uncomfortable. So, I'm not going to lie. The first few minutes may be a bit awkward. Rest easy though, my friend. That feeling will not last for long. I will guide you through the process and chances are most of the moments I'll capture are those you didn't even know occurred. Before you know it, we'll be laughing, talking about the most random topics, and heck... I might even end up letting your 3 year old take my picture. I'm super laid back and the goal is to have you leaving your shoot realizing that getting your photos taken can actually be fun.
How can I pay for my retainer or session?
Once you have decided to book with me, I will email you a contract to read and sign and two separate invoices. One will be for your retainer and one for your actual session. Once you receive these, you will have the option to pay online with a credit card or you can mail or deliver cash or check. **If paying with a card online through your invoice, your charge may show up as either Shootproof or Jill Helberg Photography.
How will I know when my photos are done?
I will send you an email with a direct link to your own personal gallery. I will also provide you with a pin which will allow you to download your images directly to your PC or phone and even share them directly to social media.
How long after my session will I receive my photos?
All photos are guaranteed to be available for you to view online within 3 weeks, but this can be sooner if it's not a busy season.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! Gift certificates can be purchased any time throughout the year. Just be sure to include the cost of the retainer if you want your recipient to avoid any charges.
